As the music video section continues to grow (thank you to all who are visiting for your support - please spread the word about this website!), please keep in mind that NJS4E is not just about the music of New Jack Swing, and the videos below will reflect that.
Rather, what NJS4E does reflect is that we consider the year 1987 to be the "zero A.D." of contemporary urban music today. That means all the music we hear now, especially by artists such as Jay-Z, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Thicke, The Neptunes, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, and more can be traced back to the year 1987 when hip-hop/urban music truly began to manifest itself as a force to be reckoned with.
Like the Old Testament, we regard music pre-1987 as extremely important and influential - but the years 1987 to about 1993 were the pivotal years for R&B (New Jack Swing) and Hip-Hop (Golden Age), andthe majority of music videos featured here will be from that era, or feature artists who were prominent during that era.
NJS4E would not be what it is without your support. Again, we thank each and every one of you who visits this site on a regular basis for proving to the "powers-that-be" that we need more sites like this, that can keep music like this alive, and maybe even start a revival. Music videos are just one part of making that happen. But as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Moving pictures are then worth a million. Enjoy the vids.
