For NJS4E's exclusive interview with Danny Wood by Jarrell Mason from summer 2007,
simply scroll down. And listen! This is the most in-depth interview with a New Kid
ever conducted.

Welcome to one of the newest sections of NJS4E -- the Pop Stand.

We think we may be on the verge of PE III - that is, Pop Explosion III.

The Pop Explosion phenomenon beginning from the Zero AD of NJS4E's music history (1987) began with PE I. That featured artists such as Martika, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Rick Astley, The New Kids On The Block, Dino, Tommy Page, The Boys, Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, and so many more. PE I spanned between 1987 and 1991.

PE I: The New Kids On The Block

PE II was even bigger than PE I. Key differences though, were that it was a lot less "urban" in nature, but also a lot more international. PE II featured headliners such as Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys, 'NSync, Christina Aguilera, 98 Degrees, O-Town, 5ive, S Club 7, and more. This era lasted roughly between 1997 and 2001, peaking between Spring 1999 and the Fall of 2000. It was during this era that the term "boyband" was first coined.

PE II: 'NSync

PE III we think started in 2007, and is really heating up this year. High School Musical, Hairspray, Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers seem to be kicking it off. The funny thing is, however, that original stars from PE I (New Kids On The Block) are riding the wave this time around. But a new group of potential superstars discovered by NKOTB founder Maurice Starr called the Heartbeat Boys are here.

PE III: The HeartBeat Boys?

THE DONNA WRIGHT INTERVIEW 2008

NJS4E/The Time Machine rising star Jarrell Mason sat down with industry manager Donna Wright earlier this year for a candid interview covering the ins and outs of managing both the Backstreet Boys and Nsync, as well as what it was like to be part of PE II, the era that brought us Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and more!

Intro vid coming soon - but for now enjoy the interview itself!
