Although Michael Jackson's career spans decades and many styles of music including disco and 80s pop, for the Dangerous album, Michael embarked on a New Jack Swing path with producer Teddy Riley at the helm. Aided by Riley collaborator Bernard Belle, the Dangerous album spawned what can perhaps be considered New Jack Swing's climactic point - the release of "Remember The Time" in the fall of 1991. The song flawlessly blends Michael Jackson's musical sensibilities to a New Jack beat, and the effort is purely magnetic. Other notably New Jack cuts from the album include "Jam," "Keep It In The Closet," and "Why You Wanna Trip On Me."
Michael Jackson is definitely one of the greatest entertainers that has ever lived. To be able to include his name in the history of New Jack Swing is an honor in and of itself.
